PY0S St. Peter and St. Paul Rocks

PT0S Saint Peter and Saint Paul Rocks DXPedition

There's another rare DXPedition just on the horizon!  PT0S, St. Peter and Paul Rocks is scheduled for November 10th through the 22nd, 2012 (approximately).  Saint Peter and Saint Paul Rocks is an ATNO (all time new one) DXCC for me.  Cruising their Website at PT0S.com, I see this is very rare opportunity and possibly the last time we'll have a chance at working the Rocks. There's been an official ban on Amateur Radio activities for quite some time, and it appears they've been given a one-time special operating permit for this DXPedition.  Here's a few links to their Website and Online Log:

Go get'm!

UPDATED:  Nov 12, 2012 2030Z.  What a pileup!  That was the nastiest pileup on CW I've ever heard.  At one time I think there were at least a hundred stations calling on the PT0S transmit frequency.  Wow.  Anyway, got another ATNO - #321.  Here's a short audio clip.  I'm glad he called me twice because I wasn't sure he called me the first time.  Congratulations to the PT0S DXpedition for a great signal, right through the QRM.

The 10 Meter pileup was wide, but nowhere near as many LIDs:

Good contact, the PT0S op was an accomplished CW test op. Sounds like you could use a little bit more practice sending and receiving. Have fun and thanks for posting

hahahaha! Roberto, well I think I get too excited sometimes! I sure hosed that Q up pretty good, but they stuck with me.

At times the pileups get so bad they no longer do anything productive. The UP UP UP police screaming at everyone and the lids tuning up on top of the Dxpedition make things worse, and it gets to the point where you just have to turn the radio off and walk away, before you start throwing things.

I think the UP, UP, UP cops come from the absolute frustration of having to listen to the same idiot(s) over a period of time. Like you said, you have to walk away. It never used to be like that.

Beleive it or not is the same on the CB bands at times. When the band opens up their are SO many poor operators on the airwaves that you cant make any contacts at all. Add to that all the overmodulated stations pushing illegal power.
