VK9LL showed up on 40 Meter CW this morning with a great signal on my "Inverted L" wire vertical. When I say morning, I mean 4 AM this morning. I'm hearing from the experts that this sunspot cycle HAS peaked, so 40 Meters surely will become a workhorse band in a few years when the rest of the higher frequencies tank. Here's a recording working VK9LL at 1007Z. He was listening UP at 7.035.41, but as you'll hear, NY4G did everything he could to prevent the QSO (as he was transmitting on the VK9LL TX frequency), but that's OK, we still made it through.
