Are You Ready For Some DX?

Amateur Radio Station N0UNAre You Ready For Some DX? Have you done anything to increase your chances of working Bouvet 3Y0K, San Ambrosio 3G0XQ and Desecheo KP5/NP3VI the next couple months? You know, “station improvements”?

A little over 3 years ago I added a 30 Meter Vertical to increase my chances of working Bouvet 3Y0J. And I’m glad I did – I snagged them on that vertical a couple weeks later! I wrote about it here: 3Y0J Is On The Air!

By adding a small 3 element 12 Meter monobander the last couple days I won’t have to turn my 17 Meter monobander around and try to work off the back reflector on 12 Meters now. The 3 element monobander gives me a fighting chance. It sure helped the last couple days the weather in Denver was dry with temperatures over 60° F, and no wind – absolutely perfect antenna weather!

Anyway, we’re ready to bust some good old fashioned SSB and CW pile-ups on 160 through 10 Meters these days, bring on the DX!

See you in the REAL Ham Radio CW & SSB pileups!

Hope to get them in the log if they are NOT FT8 only operations……

They’ve come up with a CW & SSB daily schedule. Check their Facebook page. Sure beats waiting around when they’re running that lazy computer scripted text messaging software.

      Good luck!

So far i’m confirmed on 20 and 80 CW and 15 phone. It is such a nice surprise to get almost automatic Lotw confirmation from an in-progress dxpedition!!!! I heard them work your call yesterday (01/21/2026) on 30 meter CW. I tried for about an hour on 30 but didn’t make it in the log that time around.

to take a charter flight from Santiago to Juan Fernandez Island (CE0Z),
January 9th or possibly 10th. He hopes to have landing authorization by
by the 5th, where he will then load the gear onto a boat for San Ambrosio.
Reports state that he plans to share videos via Starlink of his voyage to
be shared with the DX community.
