TXTpeditions (Formerly DXpeditions)TXTpeditions (Formerly DXpeditions):

A few current TXTpeditions as of this Blog Post writing:

T22T – 100,034 Q’s: .5% CW, 1% SSB, 98.5% FT

ZD9W – 6,518 Q’s: 0% CW, 0% SSB, 100% FT

5X3K – 29,802 Q’s: 22% CW, 13% SSB, 65% FT

It appears to many of us Real Amateurs (ie Real Communicators) the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) sure has gone out of their way to allow the destruction of a hobby they say they’ve been trying for decades – to protect. TXTpeditioners, guilty. TXTers, guilty. ARRL, guilty. Lazy is, as lazy does.

“Follow the money” he said, follow the money.

Think I’ll go register TXTpeditions.com. Seems to be the new humanless lazy, automated computer scripted txt messaging app path for the future of Ham Radio. Swell.

There’s the old adage, if you can’t beam em join em.

I will still call cq dx and be happy with working anyone that responds
It might not be Pitcairn island but it’s something.

    Absolutely fuckin ridiculous………….

    ZD9W

    44,742 FT8
    2,685 CW
    1,541 SSB

    For a grand total of 91.36% FT8.

Fear not CW enthusiasts, vengeance will be mine next year!!!

    I ran a few numbers.

    Recently Completed TXTpeditions:
    T22T – 96.7% of 102,248 Q’s are FT
    5X3K – 58.5% of 60,190 Q’s are FT

    Current TXTpeditions:
    ZD9W – 91.4% of 48,968 are FT
    W8S – 49.3% of 45,549 are FT

    Current DXpedition:
    T2C – 30.5% of 15,192 Q’s are FT (perhaps a real DXpedition but more likely T22T previously ran almost 100K Q’s FT).

I challenge ANYBODY to prove this FT is NOT about the 100 dollar bills. If it isn’t about the money then why don’t they just take a moment to upload their log to LoTW? There’s no cost to upload to LoTW, ZERO. Hell, every one of them constantly uploads to Club Log already, right? And if it weren’t about the money why do US LoTW users have to JOIN and MAINTAIN membership to the ARRL to get their DXCC numbers “credited”? Fiddy a year PLUS the LoTW Credits and LoTW Submissions. To logs already in their system!

Follow the money. What a lazy, embarrassing scam.

Yep… our hobby is almost gone. Tune across the phone band… almost dead. Then tune to that FT8 frequency and 20 over 9 warbling carriers 100 deep.

FT8 has it’s place with rtty and psk
But they need to have as many cw and ssb contacts
many people prefer non ft8 modes
